Try OctoShift, our load shifting tool.

Most standard electricity plans charge the same rate no matter when you use power—morning, afternoon, or evening. At Octopus, we offer Time-of-Use (TOU) plans, where you pay less during Off-Peak and Night periods.

We’ve designed OctoShift to help you see how shifting your energy usage between Peak, Off-Peak, and Night can impact your overall energy costs.

Getting started is easy

1) Enter your address or ICP & choose the matching property.

2) You’ll see default values of 8,000 kWh (NZ average annual residential usage) and 365 days pre-filled.

3) Select a plan from the dropdown list of Octopus plans to generate TOU rates

4) See the average time-of-use split for Octopus customers in your area and cost on your selected plan.
