Intelligent Octopus Terms and Conditions


  1. By signing up to the Intelligent Octopus (IO) for EV Trial you agree to these terms in addition to the Octopus general terms & conditions and privacy policy.

  2. You must ensure that your EV charging equipment is safe and meets all relevant electrical standards and regulations.

  3. This service is available for managing charging of the EV you register in your app against your customer account. Charging will be managed when your EV is at the location linked to this customer account.

  4. All of your EV charging at the location of the ICP linked to this customer account must be managed through this service.

  5. This is a beta trial. This means some things may not work the first time or may break and that on occasion wifi or communication issues can prevent things working at all. By agreeing to participate in this trial you accept that there is a risk of us not being able to optimise your EV, or that usage takes place at suboptimal times.

  6. For participating in this trial we will give you a non refundable account credit of $10 per complete month that your EV is integrated and capable of being controlled by us. On the condition that all of your EV charging at the location of the ICP connected to this account is managed through this service. Credits will be applied to accounts at the beginning of each month for the prior calendar month.

  7. We reserve the right to change the account credit value, or remove this account credit with one month notice.

  8. If you notice any issues with your EV please contact us immediately. In this event, Octopus will take reasonable steps to seek to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. You will always be able to stop participating in the trial.

  9. Octopus will gather data about your usage, technology characteristics (e.g. model, size, power consumption), operating preferences, any actions you take and how your EV performs. We will use this information to help us refine our service offering and we may also share this information as part of aggregated anonymised insights.

  10. Octopus accepts no liability for wear of your EV. Our liability to you shall be as set out in our General Terms and Conditions.

  11. We may stop providing the trial service, or may terminate your use of it at any time. We will tell you as soon as practical if we intend to stop the trial service.
